Dr. Papadopoulos Homer holds a Physics degree and a Pre-PhD on Telecommunications from the University of Athens and a Bio-design Graduate Certificate from Stanford University US. He has an MBA at Warwick University and he holds a PhD from IS/IT Department of Bath University UK. Dr. Papadopoulos is working for NCSR “Demokritos” as Research Director of Applied Science managing various European funded Research programs within the fields of e-services, mobile services and technologies and broadband telecommunication networks. He has published several papers in journals and international conferences.
Dr. Dimitra Pappa, holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens Greece (NTUA), an MBA degree from the Hellenic Open University and a PhD from the University of Surrey. Since the late 1990’s she has taken part in a number of European and national research and development projects in the fields of eLearning, e-Health, e-Government and e-Commerce as scientific supervisor, project manager, coordinator, and member of the work team.
Eng. Vassilis Pitsilis graduated from the department of “Electrical and Computer Engineering”- the University of Patras- in 1999. His professional experience includes design and deployment of broadband networks for multimedia applications, s/w design and development, communication technologies, advanced application and services (tele-training, tele-medicine) and network deployment as well as project management for Research projects. He has worked in the private sector in the field of IT.
MSc. Antonis Korakis holds a degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent (UK). He proceeded in 2004 with a Master of Science in Broadband and Mobile Communication Networks from the University of Kent (UK) and in 2012 with a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from the University of Kent (UK). Mr Korakis has been working since 2008, as a researcher under contract for NCSR D.
MSc. George Balaskas holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence degree from the University of Sussex with a Masters of Intelligent and Adaptive Systems from the University of Sussex. He is currently a PhD. Candidate for the University of Piraeus and an Early-Stage Researcher at NCSR Demokritos as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network: Health Cascade. George specialises in machine learning and is currently working on developing Natural Language solutions for the Health Cascade programme.
MSc. Areti Katsamagkou holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Crete and an MSc degree in Information Systems from Athens University of Economics & Business. She has been working in the private sector in the field of ICT specializing in the management and configuration of Data Bases and in N.C.S.R. Demokritos “IIT” doing software design and project management in European funded Research projects within the fields of health ICT and knowledge management.
